Actually I'm not, but only because I thought to look at the soles of my feet after the last blogshoot.
Picture stolen from Ambulance Driver, but I plead the following: (a) that is my boot with the empty .22LR case stuck in the tread, (b) I was the one who called everyone's attention to it, and couldn't (easily) take a photo standing on one leg, and (c) I'm fixin' to rant elaborate on the Massachusetts gun law situation.

Sebastian (mostly) and I have been defending civil behavior toward those that disagree with us.

In contrast see how Brady Campaign people treat others when they ask to be left alone. Paul Helmke says Sorry, Starbucks: You Are In This Debate. That is being a jerk and doesn't further your cause any. Just quietly avoid them and you will be viewed far better than picketing their stores.

There is a reason the Brady Campaign is doing this--they don't have many options.

We have enough purchasing power that we can make a major impact on our friends and opponents. The Brady Campaign cannot.

As Frank James points out, biometric National Identification cards are about as sure a way to flip out a plurality of the population as I can think of. From privacy advocates to Left Behind fans, this would just pour kerosene on the opposition fire.

Go 'head, y'all! I think you should push for this one really, really hard.

It may be self incriminating to say that the next idiot I hear yammer about "common sense" gun control will get my ten-and-a-half up his backside. Minus the cartridge case, which I pulled out and left at the range. The kick in the pants is only a misdemeanor; the rimfire case in the boot is a felony.

I am of the opinion that we should pass a constitutional amendment making it illegal for there to be victimless crimes.

...I shot Marksman on the classifier yesterday.

I'm sure I could have shaved a little bit of time by using the slide stop on reloads, and the "tactical reload" technique of trapping the old mag with your pinkie is molasses slow compared to ripping out the old one before fishing up a new one, but I was overall happy with my performance.

Oddly I don't think I really shaved any time by using the LTC 9 over a .45ACP.

I've been involved in gun rights activism for over 15 years now and I know that I don't know everything there is to know about the law, important court cases, and the history of gun control. It shouldn't be a big surprise to me that others get things wrong but it is.

It wasn't very long ago that I used to still hear people talk about the Brady Act which banned "assault weapons". This is wrong. The Brady Act created the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) and a five day waiting period. The waiting period provision disappeared in November of 1998 when the "instant" system went online.

I think perhaps the Brady folks need to remove some tags on their photos. Take a look at this Facebook picture, and hover over some of the pictures and look at the captions. Apparently some anti-gun folks believe gun owners are compensating for “a small wiener” and lack of getting “laid in high school?” And that these folks are “assholes?” Now, based on the fact that it looks like some people have gotten anti-Brady and pro-gun stuff in there, I would say they likely were put there by misguided supporters, rather than staff.

Pistol competition is important. Unless they go to gun school, the local action pistol match is the only chance a lot of people will have to shoot from the holster, or on the move, or at moving targets, or under any kind of competitive or time pressure. Back in, oh, '94 or so, I was peripherally associated with a bunch of folks who had set up their own casual pistol matches.
